"World Cup Switzerland 2020 ::: Disentis"
With sunshine and cirrus, a 62km task was set up and down the Disentis valley to Breil, with difficult decisions about when to make the valley crossings.
There were certainly no complaints about the stunning views of lakes and glaciers in the first leg of the race.
On the way back to Disentis after the first turn point, the sky filled in and almost put the entire field on the ground in front of the famous Benedictine monastery!
It was a day for gear-changing. It was possible to go fast at some points, then in the very weak conditions it was time to throttle back and be patient.
In the words of race winner Tilen Ceglar, the wind was all over the place, up the valley, low down and down the valley high up.
The average speed of the fastest pilot round the course was 27.5 km/h.
The first 74 pilots made goal, and thus all flew the same distance, and gained the same distance points. Today’s winner is therefore the one with a combination of the best speed/time points and lead out points.
