8 days till World Cup in Gemona

With only eight days left till first event of 2021 season, it is nice to remind some facts from the past. First World Cup in Gemona was held in 2016. With difficult weather conditions, two valid task were flown. Andreas Malecki, from Germany, after many years of competing took his first in career World Cup win. He was followed by one of Slovenian most dominant pilots Jurij Vidic and Argentinian acro star Hernan Pitocco. On women’s side Italian Silvia Buzzi Ferarris was leading lady.
Second time World Cup raced in Gemona was in 2018. This time weather permitted to run four valid task. This time Jurij Vidic took the first podium place followed with another seasoned World Cup pilot from Germany Torsten Sigel and French younger generation competitor Jonathan Marin. On women’s side Seiko Fukukoka Naville from France didn’t let anyone pass her this time.
The above leads to the conclusion, that in Gemona experience wins over youth. But will it be same this time? After so long break in World Cup events, the big question is: Who is in top shape this season? Follow event news and our social media to find out.
