11th World Cup Superfinal, Disentis, Switzerland : Press Release

The 11th Paragliding World Cup Super Final will be held in Disentis, Switzerland, from the 7th to 18th of August, 2021.

This first alpine Super Final brings together the crème de la crème from all the World Cups held since the last Super Final, in Baixo Guandu, Brazil, in March 2019. Also competing will be X-Alps super star and 3-time World Cup Tour champion, Christian Maurer.

World Cup winners since then, Charles Cazaux, Baptiste Lambert, Honorin Hamard, Stephan Morgenthaler, and the most recent, Simon Mettetal, winner of the Paragliding World Cup event in Kapaonik Serbia just a few weeks ago, will all be there trying to win the ultimate prize in Paragliding.

In addition, this competition brings together all the Super Final champions since 2014! Pierre Remy (2018), Michael Sigel (2017), Aaron Durogati, the only pilot to have won the Super Final twice (2016 + 2012), Stefan Wyss (2015) and Maxime Pinot (2014).

Meryl Delferriere will be defending her ladies’ Super Final title. Constance Mettetal has already won the ladies title and has been on the podium in both 2021 World Cups. X-Alps first lady Yael Margelisch and Seiko Fukuoka Naville will be defending their first equal title from Disentis 2020.

Disentis conjures up images of glaciers, jaggy mountains and great paragliding. The flying is extremely varied, giving very tactically interesting tasks. The house thermal ridge behind takeoff is the starting point for 120-km triangles and any number of breath-talking flights, leaving all who fly there, with memories that will last a lifetime.
